In the scope of Theatre Night, the President of the Republic attended the play “Freud’s Last Session” in “Mala Scena” theatre.
The thirteenth edition of Theatre Night, organized by the Cultural Center Dubrava, was held on Saturday, 20 November 2021 under the auspices of President Milanović. The project was launched in the Children’s Theatre Dubrava and has spread beyond Croatia’s borders. Each year several European countries join in.
Theatre Night is traditionally held on the third Saturday in November. This year 60 cultural institutions are participating in 40 communities across Croatia. The event launched in 2008 was held in just two theatres and expanded during the year to all of Croatia developing into a three-day celebration of theatre and accompanying programmes.
“Freud’s Last Session” is a play by prominent American dramatist Mark St. Germain, directed by Marko Toljanac, produced by Planet Art Theatre. It features actors Marko Torjanac and Franjo Dijak, and portrays an unusual encounter of the father of psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud and world known writer C. S. Lewis.
Accompanying President Milanović at the play was his Special Adviser for Culture Zdravko Zima.
