President Milanović speaks with Dodik: the resolution of problems in Bosnia and Herzegovina must be addressed in a responsible manner that will guarantee peace and stability

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović spoke by phone today with Milorad Dodik, member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

President Milanović indicated to him that in the current situation, following Russian aggression against Ukraine, it is necessary to address problems in Bosnia and Herzegovina in a responsible and sober manner that will guarantee peace and stability in the region. In this context, he called on representatives of the Republic of Srpska to resume their duties in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina deeming it the best way to continue serious and important talks that lay in store for the representatives of all three constituent peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

President Milanović also informed Milorad Dodik of his initiative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and for Ukraine, to be granted the status of candidate for European Union membership as soon as possible in order to prevent the crisis from spilling over to countries of South East Europe.
