President Milanović Views Bukovac and Klimt Exhibitions in Klovićevi Dvori Gallery

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović viewed two exhibitions in the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery today entitled “Vlaho Bukovac in Europe exhibition series: (2/3) Roots and Wings: Vlaho Bukovac in Zagreb, Cavtat and Vienna, 1893-1903” and “Klimt in Rijeka – Love, Death, Ecstasy” of Gustav Klimt.

Accompanied by the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery director Antonio Picukarić and under the professional guidance by the head of the curatorial department and author of the exhibition “Roots and Wings: Vlaho Bukovac in Zagreb, Cavtat and Vienna, 1893-1903”, President Milanović viewed the exhibition depicting Bukovac’s life and oeuvre. Also exhibited was Vlaho Bukovac’s “Slab pazar” (Poor Sales), painting owned by the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia otherwise on exhibit in the President’s cabinet.

President Milanović viewed the exhibition “Klimt in Rijeka – Love, Death, Ecstasy” under the professional guidance of exhibition curator Valentina Bach. Klimt’s paintings at Burgtheater and Kunsthistorisches Museum are considered masterpieces of late historicism.
