Presidents Milanović Meets with Indian Prime Minister Modi

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received today the Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Croatia.

President Milanović and Prime Minister Modi exchanged views on current global crises and challenges, with a special focus on the escalation of the situation in the Middle East and the war in Ukraine. They agreed that attempts should be made to resolve the current conflicts and crises by diplomatic means and discussions at the table. At the meeting, there was also talk of the threats of terrorism that affect multiple countries, including India. 

During the meeting, President Milanović extended his condolences on behalf of Croatia to Prime Minister Modi for the recent tragic crash of an Air India plane in which a large number of people perished.

Attending the meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of India with the President of the Republic were the Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval.

Alongside President Milanović were the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Defense Ivica Olujić and the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Foreign and European Policy Neven Pelicarić.
