President Milanović Attends Presentation of Solar Powered Electric Boat

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović attended a presentation and went on a promotional boat tour of the solar powered electric boat “solarCat“ on Jarun lake in Zagreb. Representatives of iCat Company, manufacturer of the boat, presented the “solarCat” as an example of sustainable and environmentally friendly modes of transport already in use in Croatia for the purposes of tourism.

After a short promotional boat tour in the electric boat on Jarun lake, President Milanović said that the State should stimulate more the manufacturing of such boats. “Europe has many funds available for this type of projects. This is actually a way of thinking and of acting. This is a product of ours that is already in use and is being sold”, President Milanović.

The manufacture of solar powered electric boats is in compliance with the European Green Deal Investment Plan whose goal, among others, is to reduce pollution of the environment, invest in research and innovations as well as in green technologies. Attending the promotion of the boat in addition to President Milanović was his Special Adviser for Energy and Climate Julije Domac.
