President Milanović Hosts Ambassadors at Traditional “Diplomatic Grape Harvest” on Plešivica
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović hosted the “Diplomatic Grape Harvest” on Plešivica, a grape harvest organized for heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to the Republic of Croatia. The harvest was organized by the town of Jastrebarsko, and this year’s “Diplomatic Grape Harvest” in Jaska was held in the Jagunić Winery vineyard.
The tenth “Diplomatic Grape Harvest” is a further opportunity to lend support to our winemakers from the Zagreb area who are doing an excellent job. All these wines are more or less sold outside of retail and cannot be bought in stores, quantities are small. Everything the people make here is sold”, President Milanović noted after the grape harvest with the diplomats.
The Jagunić Winery is a family estate located in the prestigious wine region of Plešivica. The Jagunić family has been dedicated to the creation of extraordinary wines since the 1990s. Today, brothers Dominik and Martin, who are the fourth generation in the Jagunić family, manage the winery. Their family is dedicated to nurturing not only their wines, but also the rich tradition of local gastronomy and regional specialties.
Ahead of the grape harvest the mayor of Jastrebarsko, Zvonimir Novosel, and the owner of the Jagunić Winery and host, Zvonimir Jagunić, greeted the diplomats accredited to the Republic of Croatia.
The “Diplomatic Grape Harvest” being held for the tenth time has become a traditional event. It is an opportunity to promote not only the Plešivica region but also Croatian culture and tradition associated with the grape harvest.
