President of the Republic Appoints Colonel Krešimir Ražov Commander of the Croatian Air Force
The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanović has issued a Decision on the appointment of Colonel Krešimir Ražov as the new Commander of the Croatian Air Force. The Decision on the appointment comes into force on 23 October 2025. By a Decision of the President of the Republic, Major-General Michael Križanec is relieved of his duties of Commander of the Croatian Air Force due to the expiration of his legal term of office.
The decisions on the dismissal and appointment in the Croatian Air Force were made by the President of the Republic based on his constitutional and legal powers, and on the proposal of the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces Lieutenant-General Tihomir Kundid, and with the consent of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Ivan Anušić.
Colonel Krešimir Ražov was born in 1974 in Zadar, is a graduate of Aeronautical Engineering – Pilot, and has been in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia since 28 May 1998. In his military career so far, he has held the positions of flight instructor, flight platoon commander, helicopter squadron commander, and he assumes the position of Commander of the Croatian Air Force from the position of Commander of the 93rd Wing of the Croatian Air Force. Colonel Ražov graduated from the Command and Staff School (2015) and the “Ban Josip Jelačić” War School (2020).
