President Milanović Receives Members of “Narodna glazba Trogir” Brass Band on their 200th Anniversary
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received today members of the “Narodna glazba Trogir”, an amateur brass band that is celebrating 200 years of continuous activity this year.
The president of the Association, Duška Guina, acquainted President Milanović with this oldest brass bands in Split-Dalmatia County and one of the oldest in Croatia, which today has about fifty members, from the youngest who is 10 years old to the oldest member who is 87 years old. “In addition to nurturing tradition, it is precisely this generational transfer from generation to generation of our members that is the greatest value of this brass band,” Ms. Guina emphasized.
Speaking about the activities related to the anniversary of its activity, the festive year began with the opening ceremony of the “Narodna glazba Trogir” Square and continued with numerous performances and concerts, such as the opening of the 55th Trogir Cultural Summer entitled “Our First 200 Years!” dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Trogir music, and that the central part of the celebration of this great anniversary will be held this coming November.
Members of the “Narodna glazba Trogir” attending the meeting in the Office of the President of the Republic included: Milan Bilić, Tina Bilić, Marinko Biluš, Bruno Balancin, Petar Čavka, Zdravko Čorić, Sanja Debak, Karla Golubičić, Vanja Grbić, Jere Hrabar, Vinka Hrabar, Vjeko Hrabar, Magdalena Isufi, File Kakić, Ante Katalinić, Ivan Katalinić, Kristina Katić, Lea Martinović, Roko Martinović, Karmen Matijaš, Duje Mijalić, Nikolina Miše, Roza Miše, Miho Paškalin, Nina Paškalin, Šime Pažanin, Šimun Perica, Mateo Perkić, Marija Rožić, Sara Sošić, Ursa Stipčić, Marinela Štrbac, Antonela Vučković, Mateo Vučković and Ante Županović. They performed two compositions for President Milanović entlitled “U zaljevu malom” and “Tvoja zemlja”.
Apart from the president of the “Narodna glazba Trogir” Association, Duška Guina, and artistic director, Davor Jelavić, the musicians were accompanied by the Deputy Mayor of Trogir, Viktor Novak. Alongside President Milanović was the Special Adviser to the President for Culture, Zdravko Zima.
