The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović met with the author team of the project “Putevima bokeljskih Hrvata” (The Paths of the Croats of the Bay of Kotor) and with representatives of the Tripković and Dabinović families ahead of today’s premiere of the film “Razglednica iz Dobrote” (Postcard from Dobrota).

At the meeting, the film’s author and project leader Toni Dabinović and the project’s ambassador Sanja Putica presented President Milanović with the documentary Postcard from Dobrota, produced as part of this year’s activities within The Paths of the Croats of the Bay of Kotor project. It is a documentary that builds on the years-long research and documentation of the life of the Croats of the Bay of Kotor, contributing to Croatian cultural diplomacy and the preservation of shared heritage, it was said during the meeting.

Postcard from Dobrota offers a poetic documentary portrayal of the town of Dobrota near Kotor — once a centre of maritime affairs and noble families, where Croats lived in large numbers, including the Tripković, Dabinović, Radimiri, Ivanović and other families, who still proudly maintain their Bay of Kotor heritage today.

The Paths of the Croats of the Bay of Kotor project was launched in 2018 with the aim of preserving and promoting the cultural, spiritual, and historical heritage of Croats in Boka Kotorska, as well as their unbreakable bond with their homeland, Croatia. The project operates at the intersection of culture, history, and audio-visual creativity, and over the years has grown into a recognizable platform that brings together the scientific, documentary, and identity dimensions of the Bay of Kotor heritage. Since its inception, the project has been continuously held under the joint patronage of the Presidents of Montenegro and the Republic of Croatia.

Alongside representatives of the project’s author team — president of the Croatian National Council of Montenegro and project partner Zvonimir Deković, project ambassador and long-time collaborator Sanja Putica, author of the film and project leader Toni Dabinović, and the project and film coordinator and producer Patrik Kramarić — the meeting at the Office of the President was also attended by members of the Dabinović and Tripković families: Anja Dabinović, Mirjana Tripković-Pantar, Ivo Tripković, Andro Tripković, and Josip Tripković, as well as the Admiral of the Boka Navy from Kotor and project partner Mirko Vičević.

President Milanović was accompanied by the Head of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic Bartol Šimunić, the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Foreign and European Policy Neven Pelicarić, and the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Human Rights and Civil Society Melita Mulić.
