President Milanović Meets with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte
The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanović met today with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, who is on a working visit to the Republic of Croatia.
The topics discussed at the meeting held in the Office of the President of the Republic were: defence spending and equipping of the Croatian Armed Forces, the need for this allocation of funds to ensure greater defence capabilities; the situation in Ukraine and the possibilities of resolving and ending the war, and the security situation in Croatia’s neighbourhood.
The delegation of the NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the meeting included: Senior Deputy Director of the Office of the Secretary General, Kadri Metspalu; NATO Spokesperson, Allison Hart; Deputy Director of the Office of the Secretary General, Inga Wegner; Officer NATO Affairs and Security Policy, Political Affairs and Security Policy Division, Margaux Viseur; and the Military Assistant of the Secretary General, Lieutenant Colonel Heinric van Vlokhoven.
Alongside the President of the Republic were the Head of the Office of the President, Orsat Miljenić; the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Tihomir Kundid; the Deputy Head of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires a.i. in the Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Croatia to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Mirko Ujdenica; the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Foreign and European Policy, Neven Pelicarić; the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Defence, Ivica Olujić; the Adviser to the President of the Republic for National Security, Dragan Lozančić; the Military Representative of the Republic of Croatia to NATO and EU, Lieutenant General Boris Šerić; and the Assistant Adviser to the President of the Republic for Foreign and European Policy Ivan Mutavdžić.
