The President’s Easter Greetings to Orthodox Believers
I wish a happy Easter to all Orthodox believers in the Republic of Croatia who celebrate the most important Christian holiday according to the Julian calendar.
All Christians, regardless of denomination, mark Easter with faith in a better tomorrow and hope that good will prevail despite the difficulties people face. The insecurity and uncertainty in which people are living requires greater mutual understanding, respect for differences and humanity.
Tolerant messages and words are important, but it is even more important to demonstrate through actions how we respect our fellow citizens, neighbours and friends of the Orthodox faith. Differences have greatly contributed to the development of our common Homeland and should remain a guarantee of a secure and peaceful future. To everyone celebrating tomorrow, I wish a peaceful and joyful Easter, with the traditional greeting – Hristos voskrese! (Christ is risen!)
