On Saturday, the President of the Republic Zoran Milanović visited Koprivnica to mark the 33rd anniversary of Koprivnica-Križevci County. During his visit, he also attended the events “Tradicija naših starih i sajam domaćih proizvoda” and “2. obrtnički gastro festival” (“Tradition of Our Ancestors and the Fair of Local Products” and the “2nd Craft Gastro Festival”), which are traditionally organized as part of the celebration of Koprivnica-Križevci County Day.

Accompanied by the event organizers – County Prefect of Koprivnica-Križevci County, Tomislav Golubić; Deputy County Prefect Mario Rajn; and the Mayor of the Town of Koprivnica, Mišel Jakšić – President Milanović visited the exhibitors and booths at Koprivnica’s Zrinski Square, where more than eighty exhibitors, agricultural farms, small artisans, and associations showcased their local products.

The event “Tradicija naših starih i sajam domaćih proizvoda” (“Tradition of Our Ancestors and the Fair of Local Products”) is held as part of the 33rd-anniversary celebrations of Koprivnica-Križevci County with the aim of promoting the rich heritage of Podravina and Prigorje. It is a fair where visitors can explore a diverse range of products carefully prepared by family farms, artisans, entrepreneurs, and associations, all dedicated to preserving and promoting the traditional values of Koprivnica-Križevci County, with a special focus on authentic products and customs.

A notable feature of this year’s event is the collaboration with the Koprivnica Association of Craftsmen, which organized the “2nd Craft Gastro Festival,” showcasing regional gastronomic specialties. In addition to promoting craftsmanship and exchanging experiences, the festival aims to raise funds for the “Šegrtsko srce” (“Apprentice Heart”) Humanitarian Association, which supports students of the Koprivnica Trade School from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.

President Milanović was accompanied in Koprivnica by his Special Adviser for the Economy, Velibor Mačkić, and his Adviser for Local and Regional Self-Government Relations, Nikša Peronja.
