President Milanović Meets with Representatives of the Society of Civil Engineers and Technicians of Međimurje
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović held talks today with the representatives of the Society of Civil Engineers and Technicians of Međimurje, which is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year.
The members of the Society introduced President Milanović with the activities and results of the organisation whose primary purpose is providing continuous professional development to its members through seminars and expert gatherings, with the aim of acquiring new skills and knowledge about new technologies. The President of the Society Ratko Matotek emphasised that the organisation runs on a voluntary basis with a constant increase in membership and that the Society is one of the most active professional organisations in the field in Croatia.
Our Society has made a great contribution to civil engineering in Croatia, added the Society’s Vice President Nina Dražin Lovrec, who is also the Vice President of the Croatian Chamber of Civil Engineers. Their results were also presented in a monography about the last five years of the Society’s activities which was gifted to the President. They also thanked the President for the patronage of the Society’s 65th Anniversary. During the meeting, the President and representatives also discussed the state of civil engineering in Croatia, which could not function without civil engineers and technicians.
Apart from the President and Vice President of the Society, honorary presidents of the Society Dragutin Matotek, Josip Švenda and Zdravko Hunjadi also attended the meeting at the Office of the President, together with the Society’s Executive Board members Ana Belčić, Marija Halić, Đurđa Plavljanić, Ljiljana Tepavac-Kocijan, Saša Sabolić and the Supervisory Board member Pero Vidović.
President Milanović was accompanied by the Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for the Economy Velibor Mačkić and the Assistant Adviser to the President of the Republic for the Economy Martina Ciglević.
