President Milanović Receives Dance Sports Medal Winners and Leadership of Croatian Dance Sport Association
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović today received the representatives of the Croatian Dance Sport Association, alongside coaches, sports technicians, and athletes gathered in the umbrella organization for sports dance in the Republic of Croatia.
The President of the Croatian Dance Sport Association, Dragana Majcen, and the Association’s Secretary General, Marina Kraševac Barišić, briefed President Milanović on the activities of the Association. They highlighted that encouraging the development and promotion of sports dance in Croatia, supporting the education of professional staff, as well as improving and increasing mass participation in dance sports are their most important activities. A special emphasis was placed on the great success of Croatian athletes in international competitions.
On the WDSF World Championship, held in Hungary in December 2025, Croatia won 34 medals. On the WDSF European Championships, held this year in Novi Sad, the Croatian representatives won 32 medals. During the meeting, the medal-winning athletes were presented to President Milanović.
Since its establishment in 1992, the Association has taken care of the development and improvement of dance sports in Croatia. There are currently 1,300 registered dance sports athletes in Croatia who are competing in various disciplines and styles, according to the representatives of the Croatian Dance Sport Association.
The meeting at the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia was attended by sportspersons Nathalie Nujster, Patricija Kršić, Stefani Hrman, Vedran Sraga, Paula Hude, Dora Šašić, Šimun Kovačević, Dorotea Domović, Paola Les, Roko Šašić, Greta Teskera, Lucijan Hrvaćanin, Ena Bukal, Lana Ljuboja, Lana Brčić, Emily Jakominić, Klara Šimić, Katia Milić, Ema Sara Matošević, Benjamin Talan, Szofia Juršić, Matea Troha, Nika Brčić, Mila Zdjelar, Lara Čop, Marta Ivančić, Ramona Ivanda, Ani Vrkić, Petra Ivanović, Tia Kondić and Ema Ivanović. Alongside the athletes, coaches and sports technicians Marija Španja, Snježana Lilek, Ivana Domazet, Jasminka Zajec, Tamara Despot and Dijana Karuza were also in attendance.
The President of the Republic was accompanied by the Commissioner of the President for Sports, Tomislav Paškvalin.
