President of the Republic in Petrinja Discusses Aftermath of Earthquake with Army, Civil Protection and Firefighter Representatives
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović visited the “Pukovnik Predrag Matanović” barracks in Petrinja housing the residents of Petrinja and surrounding area as well as the residents of the Petrinja Nursing Home who cannot return to their homes as a result of the earthquake.
At the meeting in the barracks, President Milanović was briefed on the situation in the field by the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces Admiral Robert Hranj, the Head of Civil Protection Damir Trut and the Fire Chief of the Republic of Croatia Slavko Tucaković. He was acquainted with all action taken until now in providing for the residents and in clearing the rubble caused by the quake as well as on further activities and plans.
President Milanović also spoke with the Petrinja Nursing Home director Magdalena Komes who informed him of the situation with the Nursing Home residents.
After Petrinja, President Milanović will tour the communities of Strašnik and Majske Poljane as well as the town of Glina.
