“I don’t know who published that because a decision has not been made,” said the President of the Republic Zoran Milanović, commenting on the alleged decision to purchase French fighter jets.

Reporters asked the President if he still insisted on American planes. “I never insisted on American planes, I only said that Americans are our main partners. Over the past year, I have been saying that I will support any choice the Government makes. Both bids are good. Croatian interests should be taken into account and they should be self-serving,” President Milanović said, commenting on the procurement of fighter jets during his stay in Kastav, where he visited an exhibition opened on the 150th anniversary of the First Assembly of Croats from Istria and the Kvarner Islands.

He also commented on COVID-19 passports and wearing masks. “I still don’t understand what those COVID-19 passports – which are not passports but stamps – are for. At some point there will be more vaccines than interested citizens. The story ends there, and the same goes for masks. I don’t wear a mask because I’ve been vaccinated twice and I am increasingly in the company of people who have been vaccinated twice. If people get vaccinated more, there will be no need for those passports,” said President Milanović.

“People do much more dangerous and unhealthier things than vaccination, which is neither dangerous nor unhealthy at all, but I am aware that this is another level of fear and caution that is simply human,” said the President.
