All Croatian Armed Forces Members Safely Evacuated from Iraq
All seven members of the Croatian Armed Forces who participated in the mission in Iraq have been safely evacuated and are on their way back to Croatia. The withdrawal of Croatian Armed Forces members from the missions in Iraq and Lebanon was carried out in accordance with the decision of the President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanović. A member of the Croatian Armed Forces who was on the mission in Lebanon was safely evacuated from Lebanon a week ago.
President Milanović made the decision to withdraw Croatian soldiers from Iraq and Lebanon immediately after the outbreak of the war in the Middle East, primarily considering the safety of Croatian Armed Forces members.
