Today, Orsat Miljenić, Head of the Office of the President of the Republic, participated in the commemoration of the Remembrance Day of the Victims of the Jasenovac concentration camp as the envoy of the President of the Republic, Zoran Milanović. Alongside his delegation, he honoured all the victims of Jasenovac at the “Stone Flower” monument.

The envoy of the President of the Republic, Orsat Miljenić, was accompanied by the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Defense, Ivica Olujić, and the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Human Rights and Civil Society, Melita Mulić.

At the Jasenovac Memorial Site, a commemoration was held to honour the victims of the Ustasha-run concentration camp. This year marks the 79th anniversary of the inmates’ escape from the Jasenovac concentration camp, and homage was paid not only to all the victims but also to the surviving inmates.

The commemoration commenced with a gathering at the Memorial Museum, from where the column of remembrance proceeded to the “Stone Flower” monument.  Subsequently, a commemorative event featuring cultural and artistic performances took place near the monument. Delegations then laid flowers in tribute, opting for flowers instead of wreaths.
