On its 30th Anniversary, President of the Republic Receives 100th Croatian Army Zagreb Brigade Delegation

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received in his Office a delegation of the 100th Croatian Army Zagreb Brigade on the 30th anniversary of its formation. The delegation included: Commander of the 100th Croatian Army Brigade Ognjen Debeljak; officers Željko Ambrožić, Ivo Šimundža, Željko Šangarello, Milan Jesih, Rudi Vučić, Abdulah Bećirević, Zlatko Brozinčević, Tomislav Petković and Vladimir Blekić; private Slaven Krpan and physicians Vesna Oršulić, Vedran Batarelo, Krunoslav Capak and Neven Ištvanović.

The 100th Brigade was formed in 1991 in the centre of Zagreb. It had a total of 2391 members and nine of them were killed in the war. The Commander of the 100th Brigade said that its members had been on the battlefields of Eastern Slavonia since the very first day, and they also fought in the area of Western Slavonia and Banija, in accordance with the provisions of international humanitarian law. In their conversations with the President, members of the 100th Brigade recalled the events of the Homeland War and the role played by their unit.

Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for Homeland War Veterans Marijan Mareković attended the meeting alongside President Milanović.
