President Milanović after Military Drill in Gašinci: This is our army, without which there would be no state
The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanović attended the “Stabilnost 21/1” [Stability 21/1] military drill, which was held at the Gašinci military training grounds as part of numerous drills taking place on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Croatian Armed Forces under the title “Hrvatski bedem 1991-2021” [Croatian Bastion 1991-2021].
The “Stabilnost 21/1” drill assesses the operational capability of army units for their deployment and fulfilment of assigned missions and tasks. The “Stabilnost 21/1” drill at the Gašinci military training grounds evaluated the 36th Croatian Contingent for its participation in the KFOR mission in the Republic of Kosovo.
The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces was asked by reporters about his impressions following the exercise. The President replied that the military drill was excellent and he described the soldiers’ work as the most difficult: “For an average salary, people simulate (combat) in the mud and in reality they shoot and are exposed to danger. Kudos to those who choose something like this. Everything was done professionally, not to mention that this is our army, without which there would be no state,” said President Milanović.
Apart from the President of the Republic, Croatian Minister of Defense Mario Banožić, Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces Admiral Robert Hranj and Commander of the Croatian Army Lieutenant General Boris Šerić also attended the “Stabilnost 21/1” military drill. Alongside President Milanović was the President’s Adviser for Defense and National Security Dr. Dragan Lozančić.
