President Milanović Attends Opening of “Murtić 100” Exhibition
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović attended the opening of the “Murtić 100” exhibition at the Meštrović Pavilion, which is being held to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Croatian painter Edo Murtić.
Through chronological and thematic units conceived for different areas of the exhibit, the “Murtić 100” multimedia exhibition presents the thematic, formal and technical diversity of Murtić’s artistic creations – a leading artist of regional high modernism whose oeuvre has left a lasting mark on contemporary art since the second half of the 20th century to the present day.
Curator Branko Franceschi took President Milanović, under whose patronage the “Murtić 100” exhibition is being held, on a guided tour. The exhibition also featured work that is showcased in the Office of the President following an agreement and a contract between the Murtić family and the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia.
Adviser to the President of the Republic for Education Jadranka Žarković and Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for Culture Zdravko Zima joined President Milanović at the opening of the event.
