President Milanović Extends Greetings for Kurban Bajram
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović sent the following message to Croatian citizens of the Islamic faith on the occasion of the feast of Kurban Bajram:
“This year, followers of Islam are celebrating Eid al-Adha after marking the great jubilee of the 110th anniversary of the recognition of Islam as an equal religion in our homeland. This anniversary is important not only for Croatian citizens of the Islamic faith, but also for Croatia because it confirms how long we have inherited and nurtured tolerance and coexistence between people of different faiths.
Diversity has always been a source of strength for Croatian society and must therefore never become a cause of conflict and division, as is happening in the world today. With a call for mutual respect and coexistence to remain Croatian everyday life and a role model, I congratulate all followers of Islam in Croatia on Eid al-Adha and wish you to celebrate it with your families and loved ones in peace and joy.
