Following queries from the media, the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia hereby announces that President Zoran Milanović has not received a proposal from Prime Minister Andrej Plenković to convene the National Security Council.

The President of the Republic addressed a letter to the Prime Minister on 20 October 2020 proposing a meeting of the National Security Council. Under the Security and Intelligence System Act, the National Security Council is co-convened by the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister and they decide together which issues will be discussed. The Council’s Technical and administrative duties are carried out by the Office of the National Security Council.

Therefore, the President of the Republic once again calls on the Prime Minister to agree on convening the National Security Council and fixing a date of the meeting, as well as to decide which issues will be discussed.
