The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanović participated in the 26th anniversary ceremony of the Military and Police Operation “Flash” in the town of Okučani. The President laid a wreath and lit a candle at the ‘Kristalna kocka vedrine’ memorial at Dr. Franjo Tuđman Square.

“On this day, many years ago, Croatian heroes liberated this part of Croatia with their determination, knowledge, patience and courage, and after Operation Maslenica in 1993 they paved the way for Croatia to finally connect and liberate its territory a few months later, in August 1995. It was a group of a few good and a few brave men numbering in the hundreds, perhaps thousands. While we others were in Zagreb, Geneva, in administrative services, a small number of men fought here and on other Croatian battlefields.
