President Milanović Meets with Art Historian Snješka Knežević

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received art historian Snješka Knežević on the occasion of the recent publication of her book entitled Zagrebački povijesni trgovi, parkovi i neke ulice (Historical Squares, Parks and Some Streets of Zagreb) depicting public spaces in Zagreb.

Mrs. Knežević is a scientific adviser and permanent associate of the Institute of Art History of Zagreb and is the author of several books on Zagreb, in which she describes its urban and historical development in a systematic and professional way.

In her meeting with President Milanović, the author explained that she chose prominent squares, parks and streets for her new book, which make up the core of the architectural and cultural development of the city. She noted that she depicted thirty-five public spaces divided into three thematic sequences according to the topography of three historical centres of Zagreb: Upper Town (Gradec), Kaptol and Lower Town.
