President Milanović Meets with Members of Croatian Generals Association

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović met in his Office with representatives of the Croatian Generals Association. The meeting focused on programmes and activities of the Croatian Generals Association, whereby special emphasis was placed on protecting the reputation and dignity of Croatian Homeland War veterans and on promoting unity and fundamental values, which the Croatian state and the Croatian Army were built upon.

The discussion also focused on the ability of retired members of the Croatian Army to fulfil their right, in terms of achieving their status within the current legal framework. President Milanović emphasized that the veterans’ contribution in the defence of Croatia was immeasurable.

The delegation of the Croatian Generals Association (HGZ) was composed of the following individuals: Retired General and Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, Chair of HGZ Pavao Miljavac; Retired Major General and Vice-Chair of HGZ Ljubo Ćesić; Retired Major General and Secretary General of HGZ Marinko Krešić; members of the HGZ Governing Board Retired Lieutenant General Krešimir Ćosić, Retired Lieutenant General Mladen Kruljac, Chief Police Inspector Marko Lukić and Retired Brigadier General Kornelije Brkić, as well as Retired Colonel Zdravko Andabak, member of HGZ.

Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for Homeland War Veterans Marijan Mareković and Head of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic Bartol Šimunić participated in the meeting alongside President Milanović.
