President Milanović Meets with Sinj Folk Theatre Delegation
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received today in his Office a delegation of the Sinj Folk Theatre on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the founding of the Civic Actors’ Society in Sinj and the 65th anniversary of the Sinj Folk Theatre.
The delegation of the Sinj Folk Theatre, which consisted of its president, actor and director Željko Viculin, secretary and actor Kažimir Tomašević, president of the Supervisory Board Tatjana Katić and actress Ana Bota, thanked President Milanović for accepting patronage of the amateur theatre anniversary events in the town of Sinj. The celebrations of the 140th anniversary of the founding of the Civic Actors’ Society in Sinj and the 65th anniversary of the Sinj Folk Theatre were held on the 15th of September 2021.
The delegation acquainted President Milanović with their society’s work over the past 65 years. During those years, according to the Sinj theatre amateur actors, they prepared more than 160 premiere performances, which they performed more than 700 times at home and abroad, in which over 800 amateur actors participated, including technical staff. Today, the theatre brings together mostly primary and secondary school students and retired citizens and has about 80 members, it was said at the meeting.
Attending the meeting alongside President Milanović was the Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for Culture Zdravko Zima.
