President Milanović on Official Visit to Kingdom of Norway

The President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović met in Oslo today with Harald V, King of Norway. The audience of President Milanović and his spouse Prof. Sanja Musić Milanović which was also attended by Queen Sonja of Norway was held in the Royal Palace. After the audience, King Harald V and Queen Sonja hosted a formal luncheon in their honour.

President Milanović and his spouse are paying an official visit to the Kingdom of Norway. Ahead of the audience with the Norwegian king, he met and held talks with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre, and with the President of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Norway Masud Gharahkhani. During the bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister and the President of the Parliament, they discussed bilateral relations between the two states, security and defence cooperation, the current security and political situation in Europe, the war in Ukraine as well as the situation in South-East Europe.

They agreed that there are no open issues between Croatia and Norway, but there is room for more intense cooperation. Special emphasis during the talks was placed on military and defence cooperation between Croatia and Norway, two NATO allies. During the talks, President Milanović explained Croatia’s positions and expectations regarding the development of the situation in South-East Europe. The meetings in Oslo confirmed the very good interstate relations between Croatia and Norway and their mutual readiness to continue and intensfy bilateral cooperation.
