President Milanović Receives Faculty of Economics and Business Zagreb delegation
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received today in the Office of the President of the Republic a delegation of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb. The Faculty of Economics and Business representatives announced to President Milanović an upcoming international economic and diplomatic gathering “The U.S. – Croatia Forum: A 21st Century Partnership” to be held on 4-5 April 2022 in Zagreb organized jointly by the Faculty of Economics and Business, the U.S. Embassy in Croatia and the American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia. President Milanović is expected to participate in the American-Croatian forum.
The American-Croatian forum is being held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Croatia and the United States of America. Topics of shared interest to be addressed at the forum include stimulating political, trade, business and investment ties between the USA and Croatia, American-Croatian cooperation in solving issues related to energy and climate change, security and international relations, American-Croatian technology ecosystem as well as scientific and technological cooperation.
Further discussed at the meeting was the role of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Croatia’s educational and scientific system as well as challenges in the study of economics today. The Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb founded in 1920 is currently the leading, the largest and the oldest institution of higher education in economics and business in the Republic of Croatia employing 260 professors, assistant professors and associates. Each year around 1,500 students complete their studies at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb.
In the delegation of the Faculty of Economics and Business were the Dean of the Faculty Jurica Pavičić, the Vice-Dean for Students, Education and Digitalization Božidar Jaković, the Vice-Dean for Human Resources and Infrastructure Zoran Wittine, and members of the “The U.S. – Croatia Forum: A 21st Century Partnership” Organizing Committee Sandra Horvat, Tanja Komarac and Marina Matošec.
Alongside President Milanović at the meeting was the Special Adviser to the President for the Economy Velibor Mačkić and the Assistant Adviser to the President for the Economy Martina Ciglević.
