President Milanović Receives KONČAR Leadership on the Occasion of 100 Years of Business Activities

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received a delegation of KONČAR Group –Electrical Industry Inc. on the occasion of their 100 years of business activities.

KONČAR’S Management Board President Gordan Kolak introduced the members of the new Management Board to President Milanović, past and present business activities and development plans of KONČAR Group, which includes 14 subsidiaries. In their talks with the President of the Republic, the KONČAR delegation underlined that the company’s future development will focus on electrical energy and expanding exports of products and services that already make up nearly 60 percent of total revenues. As one of the largest Croatian exporters, the KONČAR Group mostly plans to export to Germany, Sweden, Austria, Latvia, Hungary, Macedonia and the UAE.

KONČAR’s development and successes among the competition can be attributed to its highly qualified and educated employees, presently numbering 3,500. As their major business successes of last year, they highlighted the production of self-contained power supply transformer substations for a USA buyer, the production of low-floor trams for a buyer from Latvia, the construction of the largest solar thermal energy power plant in Croatia, on the island of Vis, and continued production of electric trains for HŽ Putnički prijevoz/Passenger Transport.

Attending the meeting with the President of the Republic in addition to Management Board President Gordan Kolak were: the president of the Supervisory Board Joško Miliš and Management Board members Ivan Bahun, Josip Ljulj, Josip Lasić, Miki Huljić and Božidar Poldrugač.
