President Milanović Receives New Leadership of Croatian Generals Association

The President of the Republic Zoran Milinović met today with the new leadership of the Croatian Generals Association, association that assembles retired Homeland War Croatian Army generals and colonels. The delegation included Marinko Krešić, new president of the Croatian Generals Association elected at the electoral assembly held on 22 January 2022, deputy president Ljubo Ćesić and two vice-presidents Mladen Kruljac and Frane Tomičić.

The new leadership of the Croatian Generals Association presented their new work plan and activities to President Milanović, which include the opening of a War Museum in Zagreb, the organization of Croatian Generals Association branches in Osijek and Split, and the compilation of a Lexicon of Croatian Generals expected to be publicly promoted on the eve of this year’s Victory and Homeland Gratitude Day. The meeting highlighted plans of the Croatian Generals Association to further organize activities aimed at protecting the reputation and dignity of Homeland War veterans as well as observe important Homeland War.

According to Marinko Krešić, the Croatian Generals Association will not deal with daily politics, but will prepare professional military and security analyses that could be beneficial to state institutions as well. In this context, they announced the establishment of their Council for Strategic Issues and the holding of professional conferences and round tables.

Alongside the President of the Republic at the meeting were the Adviser to the President for Defense and National Security Dragan Lozančić and the Special Adviser to the President for Homeland War Veterans Marijan Mareković.
