President Milanović Receives Organizers of Rimac Formula Student Alpe Adria Student Competition

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received in his Office representatives of the Formula Student Alpe Adria student association, who informed him of their association and the Rimac Formula Student Alpe Adria project, an international student competition held in late August at a kart circuit in Novi Marof.

The representatives of the association, who organized the Rimac Formula Student Alpe Adria competition, its President Tibor Kezelj, Vice President Matija Momčilović, Head of Marketing Tomislava Obrč and Spokesperson Andreja Djak informed President Milanović about the objectives of the project which, they explained, is part of the Formula Student international education project.

The purpose of the project is student education, development of new technologies, STEM education expansion and networking, with students across Europe being given the possibility to demonstrate and promote their competence, learn from experts from the automobile industry and get in touch with potential future employers.

Speaking of the Rimac Formula Student international student competition, the members of the student delegation said that participating student teams designed, built, tested and raced in Formula One racing car prototypes, and that this year’s event featured 37 teams from 15 European countries. During the four-day competition at a kart circuit in Novi Marof, the participants had to demonstrate innovation and efficiency and present their product in the best possible way for the sake of promotion on the labour market, the members of the delegation said.

Adviser to the President of the Republic for Education Jadranka Žarković attended the meeting alongside President Milanović.
