President Milanović Receives President of National Council of the Republic of Austria Wolfgang Sobotka
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received today the President of the National Council of the Republic of Austria Wolfgang Sobotka, who is participating in Zagreb in the First Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform.
At the meeting in the Office of the President satisfaction was expressed with the bilateral relations between the two friendly states Croatia and Austria that share many joint interests and ties, including membership in the European Union. President Milanović and the President of the National Council Sobotka discussed the situation in South East Europe, including Bosnia and Herzegovina. President Milanović reiterated Croatia’s firm position that it is necessary to ensure the legitimate representation of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Furthermore, they also exchanged views on the current security crisis in Europe caused by the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Attending the meeting in the Office of the President with the President of the National Council of the Republic of Austria were the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Croatia Markus Wuketich, the Diplomatic Advisor to the President and Minister Plenipotentiary Florian Groder, the Head of International Department in the Parliament Ambassador Angelika Hable, the Personal Assistant to the President of the National Council Anna Gabriel, the Desk Officer in the European and International Department of the Parliament Evelyn Seidler, and the Deputy Head of Mission in the Embassy of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Croatia Johannes Leibetseder.
Alongside President Milanović at the meeting were the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Austria Daniel Glunčić, the Head of the Cabinet of the President Bartol Šimunić, the Adviser to the President for Foreign and European Policy Neven Pelicarić, Adviser to the President for Defense and National Security Dragan Lozančić and the Secretary of the Cabinet for Foreign and European Policy Ivan Mutavdžić.
