President Milanović Receives Young Scientists and Artists Annual Award Winners of the Association of University Teachers
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received today a delegation of the Association of University Teachers and Other Scientists as well as young scientists and artists, winners of the Association’s 2024 Annual Awards. The Annual Award winners are Lana Cindrić, Matej Grcić, Carlo Giorgio Grlj, Dora Hlebec, Nino Kadić, Lovre Marušić, Josipa Papac Zjačić and Josipa Sarjanović.
The Annual Award winners presented to President Milanović their works for which they were awarded, and he congratulated them on this achievement emphasizing that it is important to recognize and value the results of young Croatian scientists and artists. This award is given for scientific and artistic achievements in all scientific and artistic fields, and the right to compete for the Association’s Annual Award is open to applicants who are 35 years or younger at the time of application and who are employed at faculties, academies or institutes in Zagreb.
The Association of University Teachers and Other Scientists established the Annual Award with the aim of encouraging scientific research and artistic activities. The awards have been presented since 1998 and so far around 300 young scientists and artists have been awarded. According to representatives of the Association, the majority of applications each year come from the fields of natural and technical sciences. In total, a maximum of ten awards are presented each year.
Attending the meeting in addition to the laureates, eight out of ten of them, were Association vice presidents Alka Obadić and Prof. emeritus Dean Ajduković, the president of the Annual Awards Committee Prof. emeritus Mladen Franz and Association secretary Hrvoje Tadić.
Alongside President Milanović was the Adviser to the President for Education Jadranka Žarković.
