President Milanović Takes Part in High-Level Meeting on the Occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the United Nations

On Monday the President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović took part in a high-level meeting in New York on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the United Nations.

Speaking at the high-level meeting held at UN headquarters were among others UN General Assembly President Annalena Baerbock, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, former President of Liberia Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former Norwegian Prime Minister Gro Harlem Brundtland and Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Ressa. In their addresses, they emphasized the role of the United Nations in the area of peace and security, sustainable development and protection of human rights.

During today’s stay at the United Nations, President Milanović held a bilateral meeting with the President of the Republic of Albania Bajram Begaj with whom he discussed strengthening cooperation between the two states and regional issues of mutual interest.

Today President Milanović will participate in the High-level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, which will also take place at UN Headquarters in New York.
