President Milanović to Meet Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter on Tuesday During Official Visit to Croatia
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović will meet on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, with the President of the Swiss Confederation Karin Keller-Sutter, who is paying an official visit to Croatia.
The meeting at the Office of the President will focus on strengthening bilateral relations between Switzerland and Croatia, including economic cooperation, as well as current international issues such as the political situation in Southeast Europe, Switzerland’s relations with the European Union, and global security topics. During her official stay in Zagreb, President Keller-Sutter is also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandroković.
Croatia and Switzerland enjoy very strong bilateral relations, characterized by intensive cooperation at the highest level. President Milanović previously paid an official visit to Switzerland in April 2022.
Trade between the two countries has been steadily increasing. According to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, trade in goods between Croatia and Switzerland totalled 557 million euros in 2024, with Croatian exports to Switzerland exceeding imports. The strong relations are further supported by the presence of a large Croatian community in Switzerland. Official statistics report that over 60,000 residents hold Croatian or dual citizenship, while the estimated number of people of Croatian descent is around 100,000.
