President Milanović Visits University North in Koprivnica
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović visited University North in Koprivnica today where he delivered a lecture to students on international relations entitled “Global Challenges and the Political Environment“ and toured the newly renovated Food Technology building and constructions works on the Science and Innovation Park.
During his stay at University North, President Milanović also toured the newly renovated Food Technology building, which houses four laboratories, five lecture halls and ancillary rooms with a total capacity of 450 people, which are used by all students of University North. The University invested more than two million euros of its own funds in the renovation and equipping of the building, thus ensuring modern laboratories necessary for the education of experts and scientists in the field of food technology.
President Milanović also visited construction works on the Koprivnica Science and Innovation Park, which is being built on the premises of the Koprivnica Campus, and includes a thorough reconstruction and conversion of two buildings on the Campus. The goal of this significant project is to create a modern science and innovation incubator that will become a centre of innovation, advanced research and entrepreneurial initiatives, connecting the academic community and business, it was said during the tour.
During the tour of the newly renovated Food Technology building and construction works on the Science and Innovation Park in the University Centre Koprivnica, President Milanović was accompanied by representatives of the City of Koprivnica, Mayor and Member of Parliament Mišel Jakšić and Deputy Mayor Ksenija Ostriž, Member of Parliament Tomislav Golubić, as well as representatives of University North, Vice Rector Mario Tomiša, Secretary Ivana Bagarić Peroš and Head of the Service for Strategic Planning, Investment, Development and Asset Management of University North Marina Jakšić.
Accompanying President Milanović was the Adviser to the President for Education Jadranka Žarković.
