President Milanović with Participants of Annual Conference of Ambassadors, Consuls General, Consuls and Military Attachés of the Republic of Croatia

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović met with the participants of the annual conference of ambassadors, consuls general, consuls and military attachés of the Republic of Croatia that ended today with a reception at the Office of the President of the Republic.

In his address to the ambassadors, consuls general, consuls and military attachés, President Milanović spoke about the Republic of Croatia’s relations with neighbouring states, underscoring the importance of Croatia building friendly and good-neighbourly relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina while caring for the equality of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a constituent people. Moreover, he talked about Croatia’s position in the European Union and the need for better and more efficient use of available European funds, adding that he expects more financial benefits for Croatia from its EU membership. He also expressed his views about Croatia joining the Schengen Area and the euro area.

President Milanović especially stressed the need for the Republic of Croatia to take a clear and firm stance in international relations in terms of protecting national interests and caring for Croatian citizens.

Alongside the President of the Republic were the Head of the Office of the President of the Republic Orsat Miljenić, the Head of the Cabinet of the President Bartol Šimunić, the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Foreign and European Policy Neven Pelicarić and the Adviser to the President of the Republic for Defense and National Security Dragan Lozančić.
