President of the Republic Attends “Ponos Hrvatske“ Award Presentation
The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović attended the “Ponos Hrvatske” [Pride of Croatia] Award Presentation, awarded to individuals from throughout Croatia, of different age groups and walks of life, for their humane, unselfish and brave deeds.
The “Ponos Hrvatske” [Pride of Croatia] awards have been presented for the 15th consecutive time, and this year’s presentation was held under the high patronage of President Milanović. The awards were presented to winners in seven categories, and prior to the formal presentation for each of the categories, short video clips featured the individuals who are deserving of these recognitions.
The Croatian Radio and Television and the daily “24 sata” are responsible for launching and organizing the “Ponos Hrvatske” award presentation. It was first instituted in 2005 by the daily “24 sata” whose reporters wrote about more than 1,500 good deeds and awarded more than 300 heroes during the course of fifteen years.
