President of the Republic Tours Kopač Exhibition
Together with his wife Sanja Musić Milanović, the President of the Republic Zoran Milanović toured the exhibition by Slavko Kopač at the Meštrović Pavilion in Zagreb.
With the expert guidance of the curator of the exhibition Anita Ruso Brečić, President Milanović viewed a selection of the best visual works, sculptures and poetry by Slavko Kopač from private collections and museums, which will be on display at the Meštrović Pavilion until late March. The exhibition by Slavko Kopač is a project of national significance which revalorizes the work and personality of Slavko Kopač, an artist whose oeuvre had a strong impact on the post-war art scene in the second half of the 20th century at home and abroad.
The exhibition, which was organized by the Croatian Association of Artists (HDLU), ArtRencontre and Cloverfield, gives an insight into the artistic work and life of Slavko Kopač in his hometown of Vinkovci and in Zagreb, Mostar, Florence and Paris, where Kopač spent 50 years of his life.
Apart from the curator of the exhibition Anita Ruso Brečić, also joining President Milanović for the tour of the exhibition were the Dean of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Zagreb and President of the Croatian Association of Artists Tomislav Buntak, the Director of the Croatian Association of Artists Ivana Andabaka, and the President of the ArtRencontre Association and co-organizer of the exhibition by Slavko Kopač Tamara Floričić.
Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for Culture Zdravko Zima joined President Milanović and his wife Sanja Musić Milanović at the exhibition.
