President Receives Delegation of Antifascist Federation on the Occasion of Victory Day

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović met with a delegation of the Federation of Antifascist Fighters and Antifascists of the Republic of Croatia (SABA RH) on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the victory over fascism.

SABA President Franjo Habulin stressed the great importance of Victory Day for the Republic of Croatia because the borders of modern Croatia were created during the antifascist struggle in World War II and successfully defended in the Homeland War. He added that the glorious pages of Croatian history were written by the participants in the victory over fascism 75 years ago since they defended the civilisational achievements and put Croatia on the victorious side in WWII. Habulin thanked the President of the Republic for recognizing the importance of Victory Day, which is celebrated across Europe.

Attending the meeting with the President of the Republic in addition to SABA President Franjo Habulin were the Vice President of SABA for Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Dinko Tamarut, Vice President of SABA for northwestern Croatia Anica Desnica, fighter of the 6th Lika division Šime Mudrovčić, fighter of the 1st Moslavina brigade 33rd divison Zdenka Brčić, fighter of the 6th Corps Ivan Fumić and fighter of the 10th Corps Tomislav Badovinec. Also present at the meeting besides representatives of SABA RH were representatives of Associations of Homeland War veterans and antifascists VeDRA Ranko Britvić, Veselko Gabričević and Rozita Vidan.
