State Commission for Decorations and Awards of the Republic of Croatia

The State Commission for Decorations and Awards of the Republic of Croatia examines initiatives and proposals for bestowing decorations and awards, in accordance with the provisions of Article 28 of the Law on Decorations and Awards of the Republic of Croatia, and submits coordinated proposals to the President of the Republic of Croatia.  

The State Commission for Decorations and Awards of the Republic of Croatia is composed of the Civil Decorations and Awards Commission and the Military Decorations and Awards Commission.

The members of the Civil Decorations and Awards Commission are as follows:

Academic Velimir Neidhardt, Chair (President of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts),

Bartol Šimunić, Deputy Chair (Head of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic),

Melita Mulić, ex officio member (Adviser to the President of the Republic for Human Rights and Civil Society),

Associate Professor Nebojša Stojčić, Ph. D., member (representative of the Croatian Rectors’ Conference),

Sanda Čorak, Ph. D., member (representative of the Croatian Olympic Committee),

Ratko Kovačić, member (representative of the Croatian Paralympic Committee),

Dr. Josip Jelić, member (representative of the Croatian Red Cross),

Drago Hedl, member (representative of the Croatian Journalists’ Association).

The Secretary of the Civil Decorations and Awards Commission is Dolores Škreb, Adviser in the Section for General Public Enquiries in the Cabinet of the President of the Republic.

The members of the Military Decorations and Awards Commission are as follows:

Major General (R) Josip Stojković, Chair,

Lieutenant General (R) Marijan Mareković, Deputy Chair (Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for Homeland War Veterans),

Dragan Lozančić, Ph. D., ex officio member (Adviser to the President of the Republic for Defence and National Security),

Lieutenant General Siniša Jurković, member (representative of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces),

Anto Zelić, member (representative of the Ministry of Defence),

Ante Delipetar, member (representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs),

Dinko Tandara, member (representative of the Ministry of Croatian Veterans).

The Secretary of the Military Decorations and Awards Commission is Colonel Vlado Čulina, aide-de-camp to the President of the Republic.
