President Milanović Receives Members of  “Klub žena s bolestima dojke Agata“ Association of Križevci

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović met today with members of the “Klub žena s bolestima dojke Agata” Association of Križevci (Agatha – Club of Women with Breast Diseases), an Association of women with breast disease and volunteers who joined the Club to help women diagnosed with breast disease.

The Club was founded in 2009 and presently has 40 members. Attending the meeting with President Milanović were Club President Melita Miščević, Vice-President Nevenka Prosenečki, and members Tea Ščetarić-Jasek, Katica Vojta, Dragica Golec, Željka Benjak, Katica Šadek, Vesna Strmečki, Sonja Mudrić, Dunja Šverko, Grozda Kos, Ružica Rogin, Verka Baštek, Božica Škledar, Dijana Miholčić, Dragica Gojković, Jasna Harča, Snježana Skosples, Sonja Bermanec and Ružica Horvat.

In presenting their Association to President Milanović, the members underlined that one of the primary goals of the Club is providing assistance to women diagnosed with breast disease when undergoing treatment. During the course of the treatment, the members visit the patients, and if necessary provide psychological help. They added that any woman can join the Club, participate in the Club’s activities, and help the women diagnosed with breast cancer. The Club offers a variety of activities so that by joining the Club besides socialising, the person enjoys a full life, is empowered, and receives a better quality of life.

The activities of the “Klub žena s bolestima dojke Agata Križevci” organized by the Association members include roundtables which convey a message about the importance of undergoing screening tests and breast self-examinations, and the rights of treated women and women diagnosed with breast cancer. In this sense, they indicated that they regularly participate in “Mimosa Day” in cooperation with the Koprivnica-Križevci County Cancer League and “Daffodil Day” underlining the importance of preventive screening.

Alongside President Milanović was the Adviser to the President for Education Jadranka Žarković.
