President Milanović Receives Cho Jeong-sik, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea
The President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović received on Friday the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Cho Jeong-sik, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of Croatia.
At the meeting, held at the Office of the President of the Republic, President Milanović and Speaker Cho discussed the relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Korea, expressing satisfaction with the level of bilateral relations between the two countries, especially regarding the strengthening of cooperation and partnership, which is also reflected in frequent exchanges of official visits. In this context, growing cooperation in the field of defence was highlighted and they agreed that significant potential exists for cooperation in other areas as well, including the economy, energy and culture.
They also exchanged views and stances on key topics in international politics and current global and regional crises, expressing hope for the peaceful resolution of crises and peaceful development of international relations. The discussion highlighted the connections between the two countries, particularly their long maritime traditions.
Accompanying the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Cho Jeong-sik at the meeting at the Office of the President of the Republic were the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia, H. E. Lee Seung-buhm; Members of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Han Jeong-ae, Hwang Hee, Choi Hyung-du and Kang Min-kuk; Senior Secretary for Political Affairs to the Speaker Lee Jung-hee; Senior Secretary for Foreign Affairs and National Security to the Speaker Lee Wang-hwi; and Second Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of Croatia Lee Sang-won.
Accompanying President Milanović were the Head of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic Bartol Šimunić, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Foreign and European Policy Neven Pelicarić, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Defence Ivica Olujić, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Human Rights and Civil Society Melita Mulić, Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for the Economy Velibor Mačkić, and Assistant Adviser to the President of the Republic for Foreign and European Policy Ivan Mutavdžić.
