Croatian Armed Forces Day and Croatian Army Day Celebrations

8:30 - The envoy of the President of the Republic Dragan Lozančić, PhD, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Defense and National Security, will take part in a joint wreath-laying ceremony at the “Voice of the Croatian Victims – Wall of Pain” Memorial, at the central cross in the walkway of the Fallen Croatian Defenders, at the tomb of the first President of the Republic of Croatia Dr. Franjo Tuđman at Mirogoj Cemetery, and at the common grave to the Unidentified Victims of the Homeland War at the Crematorium.

10:00 - The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces will participate in a special programme marking Croatian Armed Forces Day and Croatian Army Day at the Dr. Franjo Tuđman Croatian Defence Academy (Ilica 256b) After the ceremonial inspection of the honourary unit, the President of the Republic will bestow ranks and commendations upon members of the Croatian Army.

18:00 - The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanović will host a formal reception on the occasion of Croatian Armed Forces Day and Croatian Army Day (Office of the President, Pantovčak 241) An address by the President of the Republic is expected

13:00 - The President of the Republic of Croatia and the President of the Republic of Slovenia will hold a working meeting, which will be followed by statements to the press of both presidents (Dom kulture, Vrazov trg 1)

11:00 - On the occasion of Europe Day, the President of the Republic will visit the University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (Unska 3)

In addition to a meeting with representatives of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing and their presentation focusing on EU projects, the President of the Republic will tour the Laboratory for Renewable Energy Systems (LARES), will attend a presentation of exhibited robots from the Laboratory for Autonomous Systems and Mobile Robotics (LAMOR), and will talk to scientists from Sweden, Germany and Norway via video link.

10:30 - The President of the Republic will visit the Modern Gallery in Zagreb, which was opened after a pause due to the pandemic and earthquake in which it was damaged, and view a retrospective exhibition of works of Vatroslav Kuliš created from 1974 until present (Modern Gallery, Andrije Hebranga 1)

9:00 - The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces will participate in a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the Military and Police Operation “Flash” and lay wreaths at the Kristalna kocka vedrine memorial.

11:00 - On the 75th anniversary of the prisoner breakout from Jasenovac Concentration Camp that was run by the Ustasha regime, the President of the Republic will pay tribute to the victims, together with the highest state officials and Jasenovac Camp victims’ representatives, by laying a wreath at the Stone Flower Memorial (Jasenovac Memorial Site)

11:40 - The President of the Republic will lay a wreath and light a candle at the memorial site of the Roma cemetery in Uštica

15:00 - The President of the Republic will visit the company “PPK karlovačka mesna industrija d.d. – Grupa Pivac” (Selce ulica 33) The President of the Republic will meet with the heads of the “PPK karlovačka mesna industrija d.d. – Grupa Pivac” company, tour the production lines and get acquainted with business operations in extraordinary circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic.

The President of the Republic will deliver statements to the press after touring the facility.

10:30 - The President of the Republic will visit the facilities of the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, which were damaged in the earthquake (Croatian Institute for Brain Research, Šalata 12)

11:15 - The President of the Republic will visit the facilities of the Faculty of Law and Rectorate of the University of Zagreb, which were damaged in the earthquake (Trg Republike Hrvatske 14)

11:00 - The President of the Republic will visit the self-sustainable expedition camp and tents set up for patients by members of the Croatian Armed Forces in front of Dubrava Clinical Hospital.
