The wife of Croatian President Zoran Milanović, Mrs. Sanja Musić Milanović, and the wife of Maltese President George Vella, Mrs. Miriam Vella, who are on a State visit to the Republic of Croatia, visited today the Kozjak branch school in Zagreb where they attended a presentation of the Polygon For Physical Activity of School-Aged Children.

“We visited the Kozjak branch school since in the delegation of the Republic of Malta is the minister whose portfolio covers, among others, research and innovations. For this reason during the visit to the school today we attended a presentation of a model of good practice, winner of two awards, recognized by the European Commission and the World Health Organization – of our Croatian polygon for the physical activity of children. The polygons have been introduced in 120 main schools and in a thousand branch schools therefore we had the opportunity to see how the physical activities of children are organized in schools with no gymnasiums. The wonderful children have also presented a programme for us in Croatian and in fluent English”, Mrs. Musić Milanović stated.

Moreover, Mrs. Musić Milanović organized for her guest a meeting with Croatian experts, who like her, previously worked as teachers in Malta thus advancing their school system. It is a project financed by European Union funds in the scope of which 350 teachers from Croatia worked during a six-year period.

Attending the programme with the First Lady of the Republic of Malta was Mrs. Remenda Grech, the wife of the Minister for Equality, Research and Innovation, and Mrs. Angela Spiteri, wife of the Ambassador of the Republic of Malta to the Republic of Croatia.
