The President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces Zoran Milanović attended a swearing-in ceremony of the 30th generation of soldiers enrolled in voluntary military training at the “123rd HV Brigade” Barracks in Požega.

In his address to the soldiers, President Milanović said that they are enrolled in voluntary military training because they are driven, for it is their calling, goal and desire. “What I admire is that in times of comfort you have chosen a career that is difficult and where you have to give up certain parts of your personal freedoms, but one that has a great and noble goal, and that is defending your country, community and home,” the President told the soldiers.

President Milanović congratulated the soldiers on their “brave and non-conformist choice in an era of conformism and a general climate in society that everything can be obtained quickly and easily, without giving up much.” He ended his address with these words: “The two hundred of you right now, the two hundred of you who will come next, and the ten thousand of you who already came are a small yet significant and mighty group that Croatia is counting on.”

Attending the swearing-in ceremony of the 30th generation of soldiers enrolled in voluntary military training with the President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces were the Chief of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces Admiral Robert Hranj, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Defense and National Security Dragan Lozančić and Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for Homeland War Veterans Marijan Mareković.
