President Milanović Meets with Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Borjana Krišto

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović held a meeting today with the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Borjana Krišto, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Croatia.

The Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Borjana Krišto informed President Milanović of the current political and economic situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, following the formation of the new government in BiH, and of the priorities of the BiH Council of Ministers. She underscored that Euro-Atlantic integration of BiH and reform processes are the focus of the work of the BiH Council of Ministers, emphasizing in particular the need to make urgent changes to the election legislation in accordance with the ruling of the Constitutional Court of BiH and the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights.

President Milanović voiced his support for the efforts of the new BiH Council of Ministers to expedite changes to the election legislation that would ensure the constitutivity, equality and legitimate representation of all three peoples of BiH in all government bodies. He also confirmed that Croatia will continue to be a strong voice and advocate for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European Union.

President Milanović and Chairwoman Krišto agreed that it is necessary to intensify cooperation between the two neighbouring and friendly countries in the coming period. President Milanović also congratulated Borjana Krišto on her appointment as Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and wished her success in her work.
