The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović received a delegation of the Scout Association of Croatia. Members of the Scout Association acquainted President Milanović with their organization’s 110-year-old heritage and its activities throughout the country.

According to members of the delegation, the Scout Association has 4,000 members and every year over 10,000 children and young people are involved in various activities, which are deemed very important because they develop awareness among youth of the need to protect the environment from childhood. They mentioned the Association’s “Boranka” afforestation project being implemented in fire-ravaged areas of Dalmatia, which was launched in 2018 and for which the Scout Association received numerous awards and recognitions. It enabled the Association to bring the concept of afforestation in fire-ravaged areas to other parts of Croatia and Europe, as well. Members of the Scout Association also acquainted President Milanović with their plans to become involved in the project of ‘greening’ public spaces throughout Croatia, which should be implemented in cooperation with municipalities and cities.

Members of the delegation of the Scout Association of Croatia included Manager of the Scout Friendship Foundation Krešo Čuljak, Business Director Dan Špicer, Chief Scout Boris Vujnović, Secretary Tamara Karlović, Project Manager Ivana Kovačević, Executive Board member Siniša Ivanković and Regional Coordinator Alen Konjević.
