President Milanović Receives Member of Political Bureau and Director of Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee Yang Jiechi

The President of the Republic Zoran Milanović has received the Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee Yang Jiechi, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Croatia.

Friendly relations between the two states were confirmed at the meeting and prospects for the further development of bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on the economic area and cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and countries of Central and Eastern Europe, were also discussed at the meeting. Furthermore, views on global issues were exchanged. President Milanović extended an invitation to the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to visit the Republic of Croatia.

Apart from the Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee Yang Jiechi, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Croatia Xu Erven, International Trade Representative of the People’s Republic of China and Vice Minister of Trade Yu Jianhua, and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Qin Gang participated in the meeting with President Milanović, among others.

Participating alongside President Milanović were the Head of the Office of the President of the Republic Orsat Miljenić, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the People’s Republic of China Dario Mihelin, Head of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic Bartol Šimunić, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Foreign and European Policy Neven Pelicarić and Special Adviser to the President of the Republic for the Economy Velibor Mačkić.
